The most popular attraction in Kanyakumari is the Vivekananda rock memorial and every day thousands visit the place.

It was built in 1970 in honour of Swami Vivekananda who is said to have attained enlightenment on the rock.

There is a ferry service from the mainland to the rock and you will see 2 or 3 boats doing the trips continuously.

It is less than 500 Metres to the rock and takes about 5 minutes to reach there. The ferry service starts at 7:30AM and it closes around 4PM.

There is always a long queue and the queue is small in the noon.
